What We Believe

Christian psychology and psychotherapy that is biblically rooted, Christ-centered, and scientifically informed will most comprehensively reflect the mind and heart of God.

Foundations of Christian Psychology
& Christ-Centered Therapy

We believe that all knowledge and sound practice come ultimately from God, which enables all humans and cultures to develop according to God's design.

Modern psychology and therapy have discovered much of value regarding human beings and therapy. However, their basis in a secular worldview has also led to serious bias and distortion.

God has revealed himself in the Bible. Beginning with the Bible and the Christian tradition, Christians can benefit from the findings of modern psychology while eliminating secular biases and distortions. The result will be the most comprehensive and beneficial psychology and therapy ever.

Human Dignity & Worth

We believe that every person is created in the image of our triune God. We are, therefore, endowed by God with dignity and worth and are made for relationship.

We are committed to treating every human with compassion, respect, and love, as a reflection of God’s grace and truth.

Sin, Suffering & Scars

We believe that sin is disordered love and is the most devastating form of psychopathology.

Suffering consists in physical, psychological, and relational pain, and it can lead to trauma and psychological and spiritual wounds, particularly in childhood.

Healing & Transformation

God brings healing to the wounded by reconciling humans to himself, one another, and themselves, through Christ by the power of his Spirit.

We are dedicated to bringing humans into an experience of personal and spiritual reconciliation, growth, and healing.

Community & Relationships

We believe psychological and spiritual growth happen in relationships and within communities.

We encourage practices that strengthen the relationships within the families, friendships, churches, and cultures that constitute human life.

Professional Excellence & Integrity

We strive for excellence and integrity in all our practices, adhering to biblical ethics and professional standards, whenever the latter do not conflict with the former.

We are committed to ongoing education, research, and professional development to provide the highest quality care.

Holistic Approach

We believe that true healing affects the whole person—body, mind, and heart–by means of the Holy Spirit.

We adopt a holistic approach to therapy that addresses the biological, psychological, relational, cultural, ethical, and spiritual aspects of humans.

Empowerment & Advocacy

We stand against all forms of discrimination, bias, prejudice, and oppression.

We seek to empower all humans to achieve their God-given potential and to advocate for justice and compassion in society.
