Joshua J. Knabb, Psy.D., ABPP, is a Board-Certified Clinical Psychologist specializing in individual and couples therapy. He is a Tenured Professor of Psychology at California Baptist University (CBU), where he serves as the Associate Dean for the Psychology Division and the Director of the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology program within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences.

Dr. Knabb’s research interests cover a wide range of topics, including marriage and family dynamics, psychological assessment, attachment theory, transdiagnostic constructs and interventions, mindfulness-based therapies, the psychology of religion and spirituality, and Christian meditative and contemplative practices. Among Dr. Knabb’s many publications, his most notable work is Christian Meditation in Clinical Practice: A Four-Step Model and Workbook for Therapists and Clients, published in 2021. This book presents a model integrating a biblical worldview with contemporary clinical psychology research.
